"The Ideal Bartender" by Tom Bullock (1917)

Fill large bar glass 3/4 with shaved ice.

  • 2 tsp bar sugar, dissolved in a little water
  • 3 dashes Lemon or lime juice
  • 1 jigger Applejack

Stir well; strain into sour glass; dress with fruit and berries and serve.

  • 1 1/2 oz Applejack
  • Juice of 1/2 Lemon
  • Juice of 1/2 Lime
  • 1 tsp Powdered sugar
  • Generous dash of Grenadine
  • Orange slice and maraschino cherry garnishes
