On May 30. 2006 Webtender User Bippo issued a Cocktail Recipe Challenge.

Burnt Orange Margarita

  • 45ml Herradura Reposado
  • 15ml Monin Lime Citron Verte
  • 10ml Lime Juice
  • 3 slices of orange - grilled/pan fried (no oil) to caramalised state
  • Orange salt

Muddle orange slices. Shake all ingredients. Double strain into salt rimmed margarita glass. Garnish with a flamed orange zest.


Claypot

  • 1 oz gin
  • 3/4 oz Lillet
  • 1/2 oz Creme de cassis
  • 1/4 oz lemon juice
  • dash orange bitters

shake and strain into chilled cocktail glass garnish with one raspberry and one blackberry


Tangerine Dream

  • 1 shot Havana Club 3yo Rum,
  • 1 shot Creole Orange Schrub,
  • 1 shot Creme de Cacao (light/ white),
  • 1 shot Fresh Lime Juice.

Shake with Ice, and then double-strain into a Chilled Cocktail Glass. Garnish with a Lemon, or Orange Twist.


Knockoff

  • 1/2 ounce 151 rum
  • 1/2 ounce oloroso sherry (standard dry cocktail sherry)
  • 1 ounce blackberry brandy
  • 1/2 ounce orgeat
  • 1/2 ounce lemon juice
  • A few dashes of bitters

Shake and strain. Garnish with a lemon wedge.


El Guapo

  • 1 oz Tezon Blanco tequila
  • 1/2 oz Pama pomegranite liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh prickly pear juice
  • 1/4 oz lemon juice
  • 1/4 oz agave nectar

Shake and Strain into cocktail glass. garnish with blood orange wheel.


Eric and the Giant Peach

  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 1/2 oz Peachtree Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz Goldschlager
  • Light Cream

Serve over ice in a rocks glass. If desired, sprinkle a couple pinches of brown sugar over the top.


Mayberry Martini

  • 2 oz. Stoli Razberi
  • 1/2 oz. Malibu Coconut
  • 3/4 oz. Cranberry juice

Build over ice in mixing tin, shake, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry, or if available, 2 raspberries


Asal Laymoun Martini (Honey Lemon Martini)

  • 1 1/2oz Bombay Sapphire/Plymouth Gin
  • 1oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1/2oz Acacia Honey
  • 1/2oz Fresh Orange Juice


  • Glass: Chilled cocktail
  • Garnish: Lemon Twist
  • Procedure: Shake all ingredients with cubed ice. Double Strain.


Mish Mash

  • 4 Fresh Strawberries
  • 8 Basil Leaves
  • 1 Bar Spoon of Caster Sugar
  • Pinch of Black Pepper
  • 2oz Bombay Sapphire/Plymouth Gin
  • 1/2oz Elderflower Cordial
  • 1/2oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • Fill with Soda


  • Glass: Highball
  • Ice: Crushed
  • Garnish: Basil sprig
  • Procedure: Muddle first four ingredients in glass until sugar is dissolved. Add Elderflower and Lemon Juice, half fill glass with crushed ice and stir. Fill glass with crushed ice, stir and fill with soda.


King Hassan II

  • 3 Bar Spoons Pear, Elderflower and Vanilla puree
  • Fill with Champagne


  • Glass: Champagne
  • Garnish: Mint Sprig
  • Procedure: Spoon puree into glass and top with Champagne.
  • Blend fresh pears with vanilla and elderflower cordial to make the puree. Store in your freezer in ice-cube trays. One 'cube' of puree should be enough per drink.

  • 50ml Bacardi Oro
  • 35ml freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice
  • 2 barspoons homemade orange and ginger gomme
  • 1 barspoon Bacardi 8 year old


  • Glass - Tiki Mug/Victorian style glass
  • Garnish - Mint sprig and flamed cinnamon
  • Procedure - Shake the hell out of all the ingredients and strain into an ice filled Tiki mug.


Catamaran

  • 5 mint leaves
  • 1 packet of sugar
  • Juice of 1/2 of a lime
  • Splash soda
  • 1 ounce Stoli (or favorite vodka)
  • Cranberry to fill Highball

In highball glass, softly muddle mint, sugar, lime juice, and splash of soda together. Fill glass with crushed ice, add vodka and cranberry. Roll once, and garnish with a mint sprig. As a note - you might want to cut down on the sugar to your own taste, depending on how sweet you like your drinks.
