The Godfather/Godmother/Godchild hit the Los Angeles area of Calif., in about 1974. The Godfather, at that time used either bourbon or scotch. A companion cocktail, the Godmother, was invented afterward.

Build

  • 1 1/2 oz Scotch (substitute bourbon) (4.5 cl, 3/8 gills)
  • 1/2 oz amaretto (1.5 cl, 1/8 gills)

Fill with ice Serve in a rocks glass


Recipe#2: Dale DeGroff

  • 1 oz. Scotch
  • 1 oz. Amaretto

Pour over ice in a rocks glass.


Recipe#3: Based on the hypothesis that a Godfather is an Italian-American (Amaretto-Bourbon)

  • 35ml Bourbon
  • 25ml Amaretto

Stir with ice, and strain into an Ice-filled Rocks Glass. No Garnish.
