Amaretto is a liqueur originating from Italy, which is flavored with the pits of apricots (Prunus armeniaca), giving it flavor similar to that of that close relative of the apricot, the almond (Prunus dulcis).
The premium brand of amaretto is Amaretto di Saronno.
