The Brandy Alexander is a Cocktail which consists of Cognac (Brandy), Creme de Cacao (Chocolate Liqueur), and Cream.
Original Recipe
The Brandy Alexander is based on an Earlier Prohibition cocktail called an Alexander, which consisted of Gin, Creme de Cacao (Chocolate Liqueur), and Cream.
Common Recipes
Recipe#1: Cocktaildb.com
- Shake in iced cocktail shaker & strain
- 3/4 oz cream (2 cl, 3/16 gills)
- 3/4 oz brandy (2 cl, 3/16 gills)
- 3/4 oz dark creme de cacao (2 cl, 3/16 gills)
- Add nutmeg sprinkle
- Serve in a cocktail glass
Recipe#2: Dick Bradsell
- 35ml Cognac
- 12.5ml Creme de Cacao (Light)
- 12.5ml Creme de Cacao (Dark)
- 20ml Cream/ Milk (Half n' Half)
Shake with Ice, and then strain into a Cocktail Glass. Sprinkle with Grated Nutmeg.
