"The place [Harry's New York Bar] was opened in 1911 by Milton Henry, the American jockey, and passed through various hands - including Tod Sloan's - until Harry McElhone acquired it. A Scotsman, he had worked at the Plaza in Manhattan, at Nice, Deauville, and at Ciro's in London."
