The Q.B. Cooler was a cocktail from Don the Beachcomber. Although it contains very different ingredients, some believe the flavor profile of the Q.B. Cooler inspired Trader Vic's Mai Tai. "Q.B." stands for "Quiet Birdmen," as in "Ye Ancient and Secret Order of Quiet Birdmen" - a secret aviator's society started by former World War I pilots.

From "Sippin' Safari" by Jeff "Beachcomber" Berry
- 1 oz. Orange Juice
- 1 oz. Club Soda
- 1 oz. Gold Jamaican Rum
- 1 oz. Light New Orleans Rum or Virgin Islands Rum
- 1/2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
- 1/2 oz. Don's Honey Mix (*)
- 1/2 oz. Demerara Rum
- 1/4 oz. Falernum
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 1/2 tsp. Ginger Syrup
- 4 oz. Crushed Ice
Blend at high speed for five seconds.
