Rickeys are small drinks, similar to old fashioneds. Generally, rickeys are just lime juice, liquor and a little sugar. According to the "Trader Vic's Bartender's Guide" (1972), "The general procedure is to squeeze half a lime into a rickey or small highball glass, drop the shell in, add gin or any preferred liquor along with some cracked ice, and fill the glass up with charged water."
