The Blue Moon is a classic cocktail that until recently has been near impossible to re-create, given the disappearance from the market of Creme Yvette. With the re-introduction of this classic liqueur, it can be enjoyed once again.
[edit] Recipe
- 2 oz gin
- 1/2 oz Creme Yvette or Creme de Violette
- 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
Shake and strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon twist.
[edit] Remarks
Using Creme Yvette results in a cocktail that is more reddish-purple; for a bluer cocktail, use Creme de Violette.
