The Kentucky Mint Julep is the state of Kentucky's version of the Mint Julep.
The Kentucky Mint Julep is a mixed drink which consists of Bourbon Whiskey, Mint, Sugar, and crushed ice.
Recipe
From "The Ideal Bartender" by Tom Bullock (1917)
Use a large silver mug.
- Dissolve one lump of sugar in 1/2 pony of water.
- Fill mug with ice.
- Add 2 jiggers of Bourbon whiskey
Stir well. Add 1 bouquet of mint and serve. Be careful not to bruise the mint.
