The Blue Hawaiian is a cocktail that contains Rum, Blue Curacao, Pineapple Juice and Cream of Coconut. However, some recipes substitute cream of coconut with coconut-flavored rum or leave it out altogether. This cocktail shouldn't be confused with the similarly named Blue Hawaii.

Recipes

"New New York Bartender's Guide" by Sally Ann Berk (1997)

  • 2 oz Light rum
  • 2 oz Blue curacao
  • 2 oz Cream of coconut
  • 4 oz Pineapple juice
  • Pineapple spear
  • Maraschino cherry

Combine all liquid ingredients in a blender with cracked ice and blend at high speed for 10 seconds. Pour into chilled highball glass and ganish with cherry and pineapple spear.

  • 1 oz Light Rum
  • 1 oz Blue Curacao
  • 2 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1 oz Cream of Coconut

Combine ingredients with one cup crushed ice in blender at ice speed. Pour into highball glass. Garnish with a slice of pineapple and a cherry.

(aka the Blue Brooke)

  • 1 oz Light rum
  • 1 oz Coconut flavored rum
  • 1/2 oz Blue Curacao
  • 2 oz Pineapple juice

Combine ingredients in a shaker with crushed ice and shake well. Pour into a highball glass. Garnish with cherry and orange slice.
