The Whiskey Sling is a Cocktail which consists of Whiskey, Sugar, and Water.


Recipes

Recipe#1: Jerry Thomas (1862)

  • Take 1 small tea-spoonful of powdered white sugar.
  • 1 wine-glass of water.
  • 1 wine-glass of Bourbon or rye whiskey.

Dissolve the sugar in the water, add the whiskey and ice, stir thoroughly with a spoon. Grate a little nutmeg on top, and serve.


Recipe#2: Cocktaildb.com

  • Build
  • 2 oz rye or Bourbon whiskey
  • 1 tsp sugar dissolved in water
  • ice, stir
  • Add lemon twist
  • Serve in a rocks glass
