The Pearl Diver's Punch was served in the 1930s at Don the Beachcomber. Years later the cocktail was reconfigured as the Pearl Diver.

Recipes

Pearl Diver's Punch from Don the Beachcomber of Hollywood.

  • 1 1/2 oz Gold Puerto Rican rum
  • 3/4 oz Demerara rum
  • 1/2 oz Gold Jamaican rum
  • 1 oz Orange juice
  • 3/4 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 oz Pearl Diver's Mix (*)
  • 1 tsp Falernum

Into a blender, add Pearl Diver's Mix first and then the rest of the ingredients, followed by six ounces of crushed ice. Blend at high speed for 20 seconds. Strain into a pilsner glass. Add ice to fill.

  • Pearl Diver's Mix: Cream once ounce softened sweet butter and once ounce orange blossom honey with one teaspoon cinnamon syrup and half a teaspoon each vanilla syrup and pimento liqueur (aka allspice dram).

  • 1 1/2 oz Gold Puerto Rican rum
  • 1/2 oz Demerara rum
  • 1/2 oz Orange juice
  • 1/2 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz Pearl Diver's Mix (*see above)
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters

Put all ingredients into a blender and add four ounces of crushed ice. Blend at high speed for 20 seconds. Strain into a pilsner glass. Add ice to fill.
